Day Seventeen
17th October 2013 Hey, I love the number seventeen! That's cool. Well, today's pic was taken at my favorite coffee shop... you guessed it: Racy's (: My sign language class only lasted about fifteen minutes today due to a test, so that was a wonderful surprise to be able to have that time to sit and be and think and reflect and read in between classes. And I had quite a bit to reflect about today. Things I didn't want to reflect about, but things that I needed to reflect about. And I read a beautiful verse that I've been chewing over: "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." John 7:37&38 Hey, I'm thirsty! What a beautiful thought that we can go to God to drink, and drink deeply. There is just something about mornings... they get to me like the sunshine gets to me.. especially in Racy's, early, next to that brick wall. Day Sixteen
16th October 2013 Today was gloomy outside, which some days I quite like because it's cozy. I was kind of indifferent about it today. So after I was done with classes and had gone up the hill to my room, I sat at my desk for a little while, and all of a sudden I could sense that the room was lighter. So I turned around immediately and this is what I saw: the sun peaking through, and shining against the wall! Oh my ! Some days, you guys, it's ridiculous... That sun just gets to me more than I even know how to describe! I always forget what an effect it has on me until it shows its face. So, thanks God. Now I think I'm going to go make art of some kind. Because that just sounds life-giving. Good-night, friends! Thanks for following along. Day Fifteen
15th October 2013 Today was Tuesday, which means that I got to meet with other leaders in Towers again to pray and talk about our community. And today we were prompted to reflect on what had been particularly life-giving and life-thwarting throughout our day. Here's my list of life-giving things today:
Day Fourteen
14th October 2013 About a minute ago, I realized I didn't take any pictures today, soooo... I took a pic of my desk ha! So, this is my desk! But actually this picture is fitting for today because I have spent the majority of the day sitting at it working on this pretty challenging paper. Mondays are typically a lighter day for me anyways because I only have two classes, but one of them was cancelled to be a work day for this paper, so here I sat.. basically all day. But this picture also makes me happy because it has two leftover bottles of ginger beer from my sisters & cousins coming to visit me this weekend. It means they were here, and that makes me happy. Also, I love ginger beer a whole lot (have you ever tried it?? I recommend, it's my favorite). Also featured in this photo: dear Bible study girls from last year, a clock that is not accurate because since the day I moved in at the end of August I have not yet put batteries into that bad boy, a book that is so richly beautiful it is changing my life!, a couple of sweet notes that just mean the world to me, and a reminder to look up a verse in Proverbs about words. That's all. (: Day Thirteen
13th October 2013 After church today I sat on our sunny futon with some coffee and little pumpkin muffins that my cousin Emily baked for me for breakfast and I did my homework. I felt my soul being restored in that sunshine. But that wasn't even the most beautiful and soul-restorative thing I did today! I think my favorite thing that brought beauty and restoration was my conversation with my dear friend, Becca. That deeply filled my heart and I somehow always end up loving God more after talking with her. mm Today was just very peaceful, I would say. My favorite thing for Sundays to be. And oh, it was a SUNday. Day Twelve
12th October 2013 Welp, this is awkward. haha I was a day late yesterday and a day late today! Whoopsies! Anyways, this is my pic of the day for yesterday. These four beautiful people and dearest friends, who also just so happen to be family, came and visited me in Eau Claire and we spent the day exploring together. And the best part is, I didn't know my cousin Emily (on the far left) would be coming too! Such a happy happy surprise! I loved yesterday. My heart was happy all day long. Plus, I was really missing my sisters! It was time. But there is just something about hellos with people who make good-byes so difficult... the hellos are extra sweet. Yesterday was extra sweet. Day Eleven 11th October 2013 You guys, I'm slackin. Sorry about posting this one late, but actually, to be honest, I'm not that torn up about it (: I hope you aren't either! Last night Anna and I didn't have any plans except we knew we wanted to hang out with our good friends, Lauren and Cassie. And it's Homecoming here at Eau Claire, so we definitely didn't just want to sit around! We had a craving for adventure, so before we connected with them, the two of us sat for a while brainstorming adventurous things that we could do. We even went on Google to find "Fun things to do on a Saturday night," ha and while "finish your resume" and "go skinny-dipping" were good options (:, an even better idea came to Anna's mind... go to Perkins and drink crappy coffee. We seriously got SO excited. So did Lauren and our other friend, Sarah. There's just somethin about being in Perkins at night that feels like home.. don't know what it is. So off the four of us went to Perkins! And we each had one pumpkin pancake with our coffee while we were there. Going to Perkins with them was my favorite thing. It was so enjoyable. Then later, we watched an old Alfred Hitchcock scary movie called "Psycho," except it wasn't the old one, because apparently there is a remake with Vince Vaughn made in 1998 and that's the one we got from Towers front desk. It was a really great night. And here's a happy Saturday song to make up for my late posting. (: Thanks for the suggestion, Holland! xo Day Ten
10th October 2013 bahaha this picture makes me happy! It's just so random and slightly awkward (: This is probably the only interaction I will have with anything having to do with Homecoming week this year: our mascot, the Blugold. Taken in Davies Student Center where we all spend time between classes. haha I love these people. Day Nine
9th October 2013 During the time I had between classes today, I sat outside of the Newman Center (or Ecumenical Religious Center, as I think it's called, too) on campus to soak up the sweet air and bask in the love of the sunshine, and the way it shined on everything today and made it lovely. Plus, I sat on a ton of bright orange leaves and that made me happy, too. That time filled my heart so much. And while I was walking over there, I thought, "I think out of anyone, I just really want to share this time out here with Coral." Then a bit later, in the midst of my reading, Coral came over to me because she saw me after one of her classes and she sat with me! Wow. That time was just so sweet and, yep, I saw beauty there. Plus, every once in awhile, bikers would ride by and I loved it. |
